so we were on this island.. absolutely nobody else on it except this dog. im friendly with him, he’s friendly back. jasmine is sleeping in the sand and bjorn and benjamin are on another island.. so this dog leads me around the island on a short trek. we sit down and i have my hand on my water bottle.. and then he’s like, “hey”.

Some of the boats parked at Port Barton. This is only a fraction of them as it was taken midday. Morning around 6-7am is rush hour for the boats. Locals pile into them for fishing, pearl farming and transport to other islands mostly. Most of the boats leave for the entire day and come back near sunset (5-6pm).

Typical day in Port Barton while I was there. October is still considered low season here for tourism. Most days I had basically the entire beach to myself, minus a few passing locals. When I arrived there were maybe 10 other tourists in the whole town with me.
